Go with Trails in France on a 3-day trail course to cross the Jura !

From the resort of Les Rousses, discover the Jura Massif. A progressive and not very technical relief will allow you to evolve while taking full advantage of the landscapes that this massif offers us. From large mountain pastures with forests of fir treesyou will go through the emblematic summits of the Jura, such as the Crêt de la neigethe Reculet, the Colomby de Gex or the Grand Crêt d'Eau overlooking Bellegarde.

With a total length of 95 km, this running trip allow you to realize a big volume blockideal to start the season. This crossing with us will give you the opportunity to discover a wonderful French massif! During these 3 days, you will benefit from the precious advices of our mountain guide specialised in trail running to learn more about running techniques that will allow you to progress in uphill, downhill, use of poles, etc. ... you will discuss all issues related to the preparation and performance on a trail, training, management of effort, nutrition and recovery. You will approach your next objectives in the best possible conditions. Exits may exceed 8 hours pper day, including breaks.

Venue and appointment time

9am at Bellegarde-sur-Valserine TGV station(Google Maps) on the first day of the course


Gîtes Tret les Crêts and Chez Verguet (collective rooms not mixed) in full board (or equivalent).

End of stay

3pm at the TGV station in Bellegarde-sur-Valserine on the last day of the trail running tour

The price includes

  • coaching by a mountain guide specialized in trail running
  • full board from the first day dinner of the trip to the last day lunch of the trip
  • your transport and the transport of your luggage during the stay

The price does not include

  • lunch on the first day at noon
  • drinks and personal expenses

- A 5 to 15 L backpack
- A waterproof or windproof jacket
- A warm long-sleeved top
- Tights or long pants in the bag
- Adapted / trail-running type socks
- A pair of sunglasses

- Bars, dried fruits ...

- Spare clothes for the duration of the internship

Day 1Les Rousses - Lajoux (26,8 km - 800 D+ / 650 D-)

Reception at 9am at the Bellegarde TGV station and transfer to Les Rousses
10am - 6pm : Hike and run
18h : Installation and meal at the Gîte Nature Tret des Crêts
Evening : Conference-debate on trail training and preparation

Day 2Lajoux - Lélex (33,4 km - 1.800 D+ / 1.700 D-)

8am - 5:30pm: Day hike/run with picnic in the mountains. Passage to Crêt de la Neige.
18h : Installation and meal at the Gîte Chez Verguet

Shorter stage for intensity level 2/4: Moderate

Day 3Lélex - Bellegarde (34,6 km - 1.500 D+ / 2.200 D-)

6am - 2pm: Hiking - Running trip with departure by headlamp and picnic in the mountains

Shorter stage for intensity level 2/4: Moderate

14h30-15h : Debriefing of the run
3pm: End of the trip at the Bellegarde train station

You will be able to do an outing of more than 8 hours in the mountains

You run in the mountains on technical trails. You may encounter some technical (scree, snowfields, steep slope) and aerial passages.


Regular training several times a week, with long outings (more than 2 hours) and a long trail experience (over 40kms)

Physical : You regularly practice endurance sports (Trail, cycling, hiking, skiing, etc.)
During the trip you will be in very good physical shape.

Technical : You are comfortable on all types of trails,including technical (scree, snowfields, steep slopes) and aerial passages.
